A moment to unwind in the city.
At Kissaten Lotus in Akabane-Kita, retro arcade-table seating, chilled iced coffee, and evening draft beer come with warm, easygoing hospitality.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Set in the residential streets of Akabane-Kita, Lotus (ロータス) is a traditional kissaten that preserves the relaxed atmosphere of an earlier era. Inside, tables repurposed from vintage arcade game cabinets set a nostalgic tone, where time seems to slow down. The affable mama-san warmly greets guests with an easy familiarity, allowing even first-time solo visitors to unwind right away.
For an afternoon break, there is crisp iced coffee alongside freshly brewed hot cups. Lingering over drinks brought by classic table service offers the unhurried ease distinct to an old-school coffee shop.
Once evening sets in, the venue transitions into a neighborhood spot for draft beer and casual drinks. Nibbling on light bar snacks over relaxed conversation makes it easy to understand why regulars have been visiting for 35 years.
True to its vintage character, payment is cash only, and doors close for an afternoon break between daytime and evening hours. Whether for a midday coffee break or a quiet drink to wind down at night, it remains a welcoming haven to drop into anytime.
